Martin Aitchison has had a long and successful career as an illustrator for children -
most notably for The Eagle magazine, between 1952 and 1963 and for Ladybird Books, from
1963 until 1990.

The next exhibition of his work will take place this July (2008) at Newby Hall, N. Yorkshire (location of last year's production of 'Mansfield Park', starring Billy Piper). This exhibition will feature original artwork produced for Ladybird Books from the 60s to the 80s and most of the artwork on display will be for sale.
